On the morning of April 28, Mrs.Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, the fifth Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, visited our university to give a special report and have face-to-face exchanges with representatives of teachers and students. Carrie Lam was accompanied by Pan Youming (member of the Standing Committee of Huzhou Municipal Committee and Minister of United Front Work Department), Zhan Hongliang (Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference/CPPCC and President of the Federation of Hong Kong Zhejiang Provincial Fellowship Association), Gu Weicheng (Member of the CPPCC of Zhejiang Province, Standing Vice-President of the Federation of Hong Kong Zhejiang Provincial Fellowship Association and President of the Hong Kong Huzhou Traveling and Hong Kong Fellowship Association), Cheng Qi (Member of the CPPCC of Zhejiang Province and Vice-President of the Federation of Hong Kong Zhejiang Provincial Fellowship Association and President of the Hong Kong Jiaxing Fellowship Association), Xu Hong (Professor of the Shanghai Jiaotong University), Zhang Fenghua (the second grade researcher of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Department) and Wu Yanguo(the executive vice minister of the United Front Work Department of Huzhou Municipal Committee). Jin Peihua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, Chen Yonghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Law Shijian, Member of the Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department and United Front Work Department, and Zhu Bin, Vice Principal of Huzhou Middle School, attended the event. More than 150 attendees, including representatives of our university and of Huzhou Middle School listened to the presentation.

　　During her presentation, Carrie Lam spoke on the theme of “Adhering to and Improving the Practice of ‘One Country, Two Systems’ in Hong Kong” from five aspects: the history of the HKSAR, the constitutional order of the HKSAR, the constitutional status of the Chief Executive of the HKSAR, the efforts for the practice of One Country, Two Systems, and the importance of education. By sharing her own experience and insights gained from her tenure as the 5th Chief Executive of the HKSAR, as well as the ways in which Hong Kong could better integrate itself into the development of China and giving full play to its strengths of backing by the motherland and linking up with the rest of the world, Lam expressed her confidence in Hong Kong's future.

　　Besides the presentation, Carrie Lam also interacted cordially with teachers and students on the scene and gave detailed answers to questions such as opportunities for Mainland students to study and exchange in Hong Kong.

　　Mr. Jin Peihua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, extended a warm welcome to Mrs. Carrie Lam and introduced to her the reform and development of Huzhou University, as well as its exchanges and cooperation with HK in various sectors. Jin expressed the hope that Huzhou University could further strengthen its connection with HKSAR, wishing the two sides could carry out in-depth cooperation at a higher level in the future.

　　Before the presentation, Mrs. Lam and her delegation visited the “Antique Embroidery” exhibition and the “Two Mountains” Exhibition Hall of the University.
