On October 18, Huzhou University participated in the Thematic Forum on Sub-national Cooperation of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and signed the Cooperation Agreement on the Intake of International Master Students from the Kingdom of Cambodia with A.M.T at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Attending the signing ceremony are: Liu Fan （Vice Minister of Ministry of Public Works and Transport and President of the Cambodia-China Friendship Association）， Li Kuntai （Vice President of Cambodia-China Friendship Association）， Shemo Nile （President of China-Cambodia Association for the Development of Relations）， He Shulin （Assistant State Secretary of Combodia）， Wu Xiaodong （Director of Zhejiang People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries （ZJPAFFC））， Lou Jianlin （Vice President of Huzhou University）， and relevant persons in charge from the Foreign Affairs Office.

　　At the signing ceremony, Lou Jianlin said that Huzhou University has been attaching great importance to the cooperation with Cambodia, and would make every effort to receive Cambodian students under the guidance of the principle of openness, inclusiveness, connectivity and common development. At the same time, the University would take this opportunity to further expand the all-round strategic cooperation in terms of teacher exchange visits, scientific research exchanges and cooperative education, so as to bring the friendly relations to a new stage between the two countries and inject new vitality into the development of the Belt and Road Initiative （BRI）。

　　“Amity between people holds the key to sound relations between states,” Liu Fan said. At present, Cambodia is witnessing a period of rapid economic development, with an urgent need of a large number of high-quality talents. He was very grateful to Huzhou University for its efforts in receiving Cambodian students. He also believed that Huzhou University could provide students with high-quality professional education and create a favorable learning environment, and cultivate a group of high-quality talents for Cambodia’s national development. Liu expected further cooperation between the two sides in cultural exchanges, academic discussions, and education and training.

　　According to the agreement, A.M.T will select and recommend 20 outstanding Cambodian university students to study for master’s degree in Huzhou University next year. Both the two parties believe that these students will become an important force in Cambodia’s national development and a new bridge for closer China-Cambodia friendly relations after they return home.

　　This year not only marks the 10th anniversary of BRI, but also the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia and the Year of Cambodia-China Friendship. As one of the important projects of the Thematic Forum on Sub-national Cooperation of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and one of the important achievements of Zhejiang Province in jointly building BRI, this event will help Huzhou University more engage in the joint building of BRI and effectively promote high-quality development of the internationalization of education of the University.
