Recently, members of the Team of Plant Health (Key Laboratory of Vector Biology and Pathogen Control of Zhejiang Province, School of Life Sciences, Huzhou University) have published 10 high-level papers as the first authors or corresponding authors in such journals as Autophagy, and International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, and 3 high-level papers as the co-authors in PNAS, The EMBO Journal and other journals.

Prof. Zhang Liqin, Director of the Key Laboratory, co-authored a high-level paper entitled Interplay of energy metabolism and autophagy in the Autophagy (TOP Q1 in Biology, Impact Factor 13.3) as the corresponding author. Autophagy not only plays an important role in physiological and pathological processes such as growth, development and immune defense, but also has an important part in enabling cell survival during starvation or energy stress. In turn, it is regulated by cellular energy status. In the paper, it reviews the molecular mechanisms that regulate autophagy in yeast, mammals, and plants under energy deprivation such as carbon or glucose starvation.

Dr. Li Yang (key member of the Team) published The role of flagellin F in Vibrio Parahaemolyticus-induced intestinal immunity and functional domain identification in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (TOP Q1 in Chemistry, Impact Factor 8.4) as the first author. The study reveals that V. parahaemolyticus flagellin flaF induces TLR5-mediated immune response via an MyD88-dependent pathway. The results of the study deepens people’s understanding of the immunogenic properties of flagellins from V. parahaemolyticus and provide theoretical support for vaccine development in the future. Associate Prof. Zhang Shaoyong (key member of the Team) published Antimicrobial activity of natural and semi-synthetic carbazole alkaloids in the European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (TOP Q1 in Medicine) as the corresponding author.

Other achievements include: Acyltransferase Domain Swapping for the Production of Tenvermectin B Metabolites in Genetically Engineered Strain Streptomyces avermitilis HU02 published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (TOP Q1 in Agriculture and Forestry Science) by Prof. Wang Jidong (corresponding author, key member of the Team), Novel Dioxolane Ring Compounds for the Management of Phytopathogen Diseases as Ergosterol Biosynthesis Inhibitors: Synthesis, Biological Activities, and Molecular Docking in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry by Dr. Min Lijing (first author), and Synthesis, crystal structure, herbicidal activity and mode of action of new cyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxylic acid analogues in the Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology (TOP Q1 in Agriculture and Forestry Science) by Dr. Min Lijing (first author)。

Introduction

Interplay of energy metabolism and autophagy

Autophagy (TOP Q1 in Biology, Impact Factor 13.3)

Prof. Zhang Liqin (Corresponding Author, Director of the Key Laboratory)

The role of flagellin F in Vibrio Parahaemolyticus-induced intestinal immunity and functional domain identification

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (TOP Q1 in Chemistry, Impact Factor 8.4)

Dr. Li Yang (First Author, Key Member of the Team)

The study reveals that V. parahaemolyticus flagellin flaF induces TLR5-mediated immune response via an MyD88-dependent pathway. The results of the study deepen our understanding of the immunogenic properties of flagellins from V. parahaemolyticus and provide theoretical support for vaccine development in the future.
