The Final of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Teaching Competition of the 3rd National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers Was Held at Huzhou University

  From September 26 to 27, the final of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Teaching Competition of the 3rd National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers was held at Huzhou University. The competition was guided by Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, sponsored by Zhejiang Provincial Association of Higher Education and Zhejiang Education Development Center, and organized by Huzhou University. Liao Bo (Deputy Director of the Higher Education Office from Department of Education of Zhejiang Province), Luo Wanli (Deputy Director of Zhejiang Education Development Center), Xu Huixia (President of Huzhou University), and Shu Zhiding (Vice Present of Huzhou University) were present at the competition, and over 100 heads in charge of employment and entrepreneurship work and teachers responsible for employment and entrepreneurship guidance courses from colleges and universities across Zhejiang Province watched the competition.

  After the provincial review, a total of 23 teachers from 22 universities such as Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology, and Jinhua Vocational & Technical College advanced to the on-site final. The final was divided into two tracks for college and vocational college teachers, namely the employment track and entrepreneurship track. In the employment group, 2 first prizes and 6 second prizes were selected for college teachers, and 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes for vocational college teachers; In the entrepreneurship group, 2 first prizes and 3 second prizes were selected for college teachers, and 1 first prize and 3 second prizes for vocational college teachers.

  At the competition, 23 participants showed their exploration and attempts in terms of college students’ career development, career planning, employment guidance and entrepreneurship education. A 12-minute innovative teaching design presentation was given from the aspects of teaching philosophy and objectives, content analysis, student analysis, ideological and political education, process and methods, evaluation and feedback, design innovation. In terms of teaching content, they adhere to the education and teaching philosophies such as student-centered and OBE approaches, update  and innovate teaching materials, and integrate ideological and political elements. As for teaching mode, by integrating student’s characteristics in the new age, teachers take advantage of modern digital teaching tools and platforms to provide a large number of high-quality teaching resources available in class or out of class;In teaching evaluation, these participants build a diversified evaluation system with a focus on student’s learning process, ultimately achieving the effect of promoting student’s all-round growth. The employment and entrepreneurship guidance courses of colleges and universities stay committed to the student-centered principle, focus on the building of “Golden Course”, and promote the development of new engineering science, medical science, agricultural science and liberal arts and the reform of teaches, teaching materials and teaching methods. These courses not only show colorful and diverse teaching activities, and rich and essential teaching content, but also comprehensively demonstrate the unique features in employment and entrepreneurship guidance and the style of teachers in Zhejiang Province.

  In line with the philosophy of “education through employment ”, Huzhou University has been stressing the career development and entrepreneurship of students, training teachers responsible for employment and entrepreneurship guidance, optimizing relative courses in students’ career development and entrepreneurship cultivation, and reforming and teaching models and methods. In so doing, the University hopes to provide all students with high-quality employment and entrepreneurship guidance and services, guide students to make right career choice, and promote the healthy growth and all-round development of students.

  This contest was launched in May this year, with the theme of promoting employment education and achieving high-quality employment. Guided by the fundamental task of moral education and the philosophy of employment education, it provides a professional exchange platform for teachers engaging in employment and entrepreneurship guidance to comprehensively demonstrate their teaching and innovative results. The purpose is to constantly improve the course building and teachers’ development for employment and entrepreneurship guidance, and help more graduates to achieve high-quality employment and entrepreneurship.
