Delegation from Catholic University of Korea Visits Huzhou University

Vice-president Lou Jianlin attended the meeting. Heads of the Foreign Affairs Office/International School, Graduate School, Music School and other relevant staff participated in the meeting.
Lou Jianlin welcomed Koo Bon-man and his colleagues. He introduced the history, development scale, discipline construction, talent training and other information of the university. He also talked about the highlights of the university’s education internationalization work in recent years, pointing out that China and Korea are geographically close and culturally connected. The cooperation between Huzhou University and Catholic University of Korea can be traced back to September 2005. During the 18 years of cooperation, the two universities have carried out substantive cooperation in student exchange and other aspects. It is hoped that in the future the two universities will adhere to the principle of “resource sharing and mutual benefit”, further give play to respective resource advantages, and continuously deepen cooperation in undergraduate and postgraduate exchanges, academic exchanges, and faculty visits, so as to inject new impetus into the friendly relations and high-quality development of two sides.
Koo Bon-man appreciated the warm reception of Huzhou University and expressed his admiration for the beautiful campus, long history and development of this university, especially its achievements in international exchange. He said that Catholic University of Korea cherished the long-term friendship with Huzhou University and acknowledged the excellent performance of exchange students sent from Huzhou to CUK. He hopes to further expand exchanges and cooperation with Huzhou University in the field of education. At the same time, he extended an invitation, welcoming teachers and students of Huzhou University to visit and study in CUK.
During the meeting, the two sides had in-depth discussions on postgraduate training, project cooperation, teacher and student visits, cultural exchanges, etc. and reached great consensus.
It is reported that Catholic University of Korea was founded in 1855 and has a history of 168 years. It is a top international research university in Asia and among the top 500 on the QS World University list. In the Korea Joongang Ilbo’s comprehensive education environment evaluation of universities, it has been ranked third for nine consecutive years. Presently, CUK has 3 campuses, 8 affiliated hospitals, 37 specialized subjects (departments) and nearly 11,000 students. In 2005, it signed a cooperation agreement with Huzhou University. The two sides have maintained very good partnership for over ten years.
