On March 10, Huzhou Univerisy and the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) signed the memorandum of cooperation, regarding mutual visits and exchange programs for students and teachers of the two universities. This is the first time this university has successfully signed and cooperated with one of the top 100 universities in the world and is a great breakthrough for this university in terms of the level of overseas cooperation institutions.

The University of Texas at Austin, founded in 1883 and located in Austin, the capital of Texas, is a world-renowned top public research university and one of the primary eight institutions of the most prestigious “Public Ivy League” in the United States. In 2023, UT Austin is listed 43rd in the US NEWS World University Rankings and 72nd in the QS rankings, with 18 colleges offering 156 undergraduate degree programs and 237 graduate professional degree programs. 15 undergraduate disciplines (majors) and 49 graduate professional fields are among the top 10 disciplines and fields in the United States. Accounting, population sociology, Latin American history, etc. rank first in the country. It has over 50,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty members, including 7 Nobel Prize winners, 4 Turing Award winners, 27 MacArthur Fellows and 6 Pulitzer Prize winners.

Huzhou University attaches great importance to the internationalization of education. Up to now, we have signed friendly agreements with more than 60 institutions in over 20 countries and regions. In recent years, we have continuously expanded the international “circle of friends” and gradually enriched the form and content of cooperation, injecting a strong “source of vitality” for the development of the university. Next, Huzhou University and UT Austin will further expand the forms of cooperation and carry out substantive cooperation according to the actual situation of the two sides, constantly deepen the basis of cooperation, and better enhance the internationalization level and international influence of Huzhou University.
