‍On the afternoon of March 28, the “Olympic Tour of China” was held in Huzhou University. Hou Kun, Member of the IOC Cultural Heritage Committee; Tang Jiuhong, Vice-president of Chinese Badminton Association; Wu Minxia, Olympic champion of Diving; Wu Jingyu, Olympic champion of Taekwondo; Qiao Hong, Olympic champion of table tennis; Zhang Nan, Olympic champion of badminton; Wang Shu, Party Secretary and Director of the Standing Committee of the Wuxing District People’s Congress; Zhu Xiaofang, member of the Standing Committee of Wuxing District Party Committee and Minister of Publicity, visited our university. Pan Yin, vice president of Huzhou University, Lao Shijian, member of the Party Committee and Director of the Party Committee &President office, received the Olympic champions and guests. The Party Committee & President office, the Publicity Department, the Student Affairs Office, the Youth League Committee, heads of the School of Physical Education and more than 300 teachers and students participated in the activity.

The drago and lion team of the university gave a wonderful lion dance performance and warmly welcomed the Olympic champions. Heads of School of Physical Education delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the teachers and students. The Olympic champions and guests presented Bing Dwen Dwen, the mascot of the 2022 Winter Olympics, to the student representatives, exchanged cordially with the students and took photos. 

Wu Minxia attended the activity “Sports Power Forum · The Road to Victory” organized by the School of Physical Education, shared her experience in four Olympic Games as well as the usual hard training, encouraging students to pursue their dreams without fear of hardship. She said everyone should be brave to meet various difficulties and challenges and become a champion in his or her own heart.

Qiao Hong, Wu Jingyu and Zhang Nan respectively met with the table tennis team, Taekwondo team and badminton team of this university. The on-site interaction and face-to-face guidance benefited students a lot, making them feel more determined to participate in the construction of a powerful sports country and to carry forward the Olympic spirit. 

Feng Mengjiao, a student of the table tennis team, said, “Today I was very honored to get the guidance of Qiao Hong. She carefully explained about my current technical problems, which made me enlightened.” 

Yan Bingxin, a Taekwondo student of this university, said, “Wu Jingyu shared her experience of hard training, which is very inspiring. I admire her professional attitude and love for Taekwondo!”

Li Xuejian, a young teacher fromSchool of Physical Education, said, “The badminton team students were very encouraged after watching Zhang Nan’s guidance. The power of example has boosted the players’ motivation to train.” 

The Olympic champions and guests also visited the Wuxing Garden and Deqing Lake of this university.
