I never thought that as an undergraduate majoring in English, I would become a master of Chinese International Education, let alone one day I would go abroad to teach Chinese and spread Chinese culture. Sometimes I doubted myself, but I gradually built up confidence in my teaching.

In the Confucius Institute, I undertook comprehensive course and HSK training and teaching. In the elementary class, in order to reduce the monotony of learning phonetics, I interspersed some Chinese cultural experience in the classroom, such as tea tasting, paper cutting, etc., to keep students interested. In the intermediate class where teaching was a little easier, students could use Chinese to carry out some basic daily communication since they had learned some elementary Chinese. There was a student named Lu Ping (Elnur) in the class that impressed me very much. He was actively involved in learning Chinese, serious in class and also good at thinking. After his hard work, he passed the HSK 4 test, for which I was really proud of him and felt pleased. However, at the end of February 2020, the sudden epidemic disrupted our normal teaching. At the beginning of March, the school closed and then started to implement online teaching at home.

In the Confucius Institute, we have held various cultural activities, lectures, etc., both large and small. The one that impressed me the most was the series of activities "Experience China-Entering Baku for Happy Chinese New Year" held in early January 2020. This series of cultural activities attracted a lot of people coming to experience, and received enthusiastic response, establishing a good reputation and popularity for our Confucius Institute.

I hope that the epidemic will pass soon, and we will be able to face the sea and embrace the warmth of spring.
