Vice President Li Qingfeng attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome address. More than 180 scholars and graduate students from over 70 universities and research institutes across China participated in the event, including Academician Shen Weixiao, Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences of Fudan University; Professors Wang Yuefei and Cui Guizhen from Shenzhen University; Professor Liu Jinsong from the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor Jiang Yueping from Hunan University; Professor Zhang Gaofei from Nanjing University; Professor Xie Junyi from Peking University; Professor Wu Yunhui from Tsinghua University; and Professor Ye Hexi from Zhejiang University. The conference was hosted by the School of Science.
On behalf of the university, Vice President Li extended a warm welcome and sincere appreciation to all participating experts. He introduced the university’s development and highlighted the achievements of the mathematics discipline and the complex analysis research team. As one of Zhejiang Province’s High-level Innovative Teams in Higher Education, the complex analysis team has developed distinctive strengths and has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the First Prize of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Award and the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education’s Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Natural Science). The team has gained considerable academic influence and has contributed significantly to the advancement of the university’s mathematics discipline, which now ranks within the top 1% worldwide in ESI, top 40 nationwide in the Shanghai Ranking of Best Chinese Subjects, and 208th globally in its World First-Class Disciplines ranking. Li expressed his hope that the conference would bring together collective wisdom, deepen the theoretical development of complex analysis, expand its interdisciplinary applications, and inspire productive academic exchange leading to high-quality research outcomes.
In his remarks, Academician Shen Weixiao, Chair of the Conference Academic Committee, expressed his sincere gratitude to Huzhou University for hosting the event. He reviewed the history and development of complex analysis in China and emphasized its crucial role in advancing the mathematical sciences. He noted that the conference would not only further promote the vigorous development of complex analysis research but also inspire young scholars to engage deeply with the field.
Following the opening ceremony, the conference featured five days of academic exchange, including plenary talks and parallel sessions. Academician Shen Weixiao, Professor Xie Junyi, a 45-minute invited speaker for the 2026 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM), and Associate Professor Pan Huiping, who has published in Acta Mathematica, one of the four top international mathematics journals, were among those presenting their latest research findings. Participants held in-depth discussions on frontier topics in complex analysis, recent research progress, new results, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
