Training Program on Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization in Zhejiang for Thai Friends Held in Zhejiang

A delegation of eight participants from the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, the Senate, the House of Representatives, Thammasat University, and Kasetsart University attended the program. The training was organized by Huzhou university’s Institute for Sustainable Development, marking the institute’s second time hosting this specialized program for Thai participants.

Vice President Li Qingfeng delivered a welcome address at the opening ceremony, which was held at the university’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center On November 11. Warmly receiving the Thai guests and expressing sincere thanks to the relevant provincial and municipal authorities for their guidance, Li Qingfeng briefly introduced the university’s heritage, distinctive features, and international cooperation initiatives, expressing hope that the training would serve as an opportunity to deepen Sino-Thai exchanges in ecological civilization and education.
Jiang Xiaoxia, Deputy Secretary and Deputy Director of the Huzhou Foreign Affairs Office Party Group, extended a warm welcome to the Thai delegation and officially announced the opening of the program. She introduced Huzhou’s history, culture, ecological environment, and regional advantages, expressing the hope that the program would provide a platform for the Thai participants to understand Zhejiang’s concepts and practices in ecological civilization, and further promote cooperation between China and Thailand.

During the training, the delegation engaged in thematic lectures and in-depth discussions to systematically study the theoretical development and practical achievements of ecological civilization. The participants also visited beautiful villages and private enterprises in Huzhou and Hangzhou for field learning, observing first-hand the implementation of the principle “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” and exploring innovative practices driven by new-quality productivity for high-quality development.

On November 14, the closing ceremony was held in Hangzhou, during which certificates were awarded to all eight Thai participants. Li Xiang, Director of the Protocol Division, Department of Foreign Affairs, Secretariat of the Thai Senate, delivered closing remarks, expressing gratitude to the Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Huzhou Foreign Affairs Office, and our Institute for Sustainable Development for their strong support and meticulous arrangements. He noted that the program had given him a vivid and profound understanding of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization and an appreciation for the achievements of Zhejiang Province and Huzhou City in socio-economic development. He further expressed his intention to share the insights gained from this training with more Thai colleagues and hoped that the program would contribute to deepening friendly relations and practical cooperation between China and Thailand, as well as between Zhejiang and Thailand.

During their visit to Huzhou, the delegation also toured our university’s Exhibition Hall on Practicing the “Two Mountains” Philosophy, further observing the local implementation of ecological civilization principles.
