They were accompanied by experts from the China International Poverty Reduction Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and from Beijing Normal University. A symposium on the practical exploration and insights of Zhejiang’s Green Rural Revival Programme (the “Ten-Thousand Project”) was convened on campus. Vice President Li Qingfeng and Jin Peihua, former Party Secretary of Huzhou University and Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development, attended the meeting, along with officials from the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the University’s Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, and other related departments. The meeting was chaired by Wang Huixian, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the China International Poverty Reduction Center.

In his welcome remarks, Li Qingfeng introduced Huzhou University’s history, disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and recent progress in internationalization, highlighting cooperation with Malaysia. He noted that China and Malaysia are friendly neighbors and, in jointly building a China–Malaysia community with a shared future, Huzhou stands ready to provide practical examples. Through an approach of “experience sharing + field research,” he hoped participants would gain a deeper understanding of the implementation logic and practical implications of the Green Rural Revival Programme and jointly explore viable pathways toward building livable and business-friendly beautiful villages.
Dato’ Noor Ihshan Sha Mat, Director of the Negeri Sembilan State Development Office, Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia, expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He said the visit provided firsthand insights into China’s achievements in economic growth and education, opportunities to learn from successful practices, and a platform to share Malaysia’s development experience. He looked forward to deeper cooperation toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
At the symposium, Jin Peihua delivered a report titled “Zhejiang’s Practice and Experience of the Green Rural Revival Programme.” He reviewed the programme’s origins, key measures, and lessons learned, focusing on Zhejiang and Huzhou’s experience in practicing the “Two Mountains” principle, advancing beautiful countryside construction, and promoting common prosperity.
During the discussion session, participants held in-depth exchanges. Chen Ji, Deputy Director of the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, shared Huzhou’s approach to narrowing the “three major gaps.” Wang Huixian remarked that, as a landmark practice in advancing rural revitalization and common prosperity in China, the programme has accumulated rich experience over the years. The symposium served as a timely opportunity to deepen China–Malaysia cooperation on poverty reduction and rural development.

The delegation also visited Huzhou University’s exhibition hall on the practice of the Two Mountains principle and conducted a field trip to Yucun, Anji County.
