Recently, the 20th National Undergraduate Intelligent Vehicle Competition (also known as the National College Smart Car Competition), organized by the Chinese Association of Automation—and previously supported by the Ministry of Education’s Steering Committee for Automation Majors in Higher Education—has concluded. After intense competition, Huzhou University teams achieved outstanding results, winning one National First Prize and two National Second Prizes. This marks the university’s first-ever National First Prize in the Tiantu & Yalong Smart Delivery—Creative (Higher Education) Track.

　　The competition is a national-level event supported by the Ministry of Education’s Undergraduate Teaching Quality and Reform Initiative. It is included in the China Association of Higher Education’s evaluation system for innovation-oriented disciplinary competitions, and is classified as an A-category competition by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education.

　　In recent years, Huzhou University has adhered to the educational philosophy of “promoting teaching, learning, and innovation through competitions.” By building a talent-training system featuring competition-led guidance, project-driven practice, and achievement incubation, the university is committed to cultivating high-quality interdisciplinary innovators. Since the competition launched in October 2024, the university has provided comprehensive support to participating faculty and students—from topic selection to experimental implementation—through dedicated mentoring teams and improved incentive mechanisms, enabling students to achieve systematic growth in high-level competitions and research projects.
