Recently, the national standard GB/T 42351.2-2024, titled “Preparation of Particulate Reference Materials - Part 2: Polydisperse Spherical Particles,” led by Huzhou University, was officially approved and released for implementation by the National Standardization Administration Committee. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Particle Characterization, Sorting and Sieving Standardization, and is supervised by the National Standards Commission.

　　This national standard was spearheaded by Professor Cao Feng, the director of the Changxing Technology Transfer Center of Huzhou University, with the participation of Professor Pan Guoxiang from the Materials Discipline of the School of Engineering. It brought together scientific researchers from 17 national universities, enterprises, and institutions, including Zhejiang Humo Polishing Grinder Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the National Institute of Metrology of China, and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. After more than two years of extensive scientific experimentation and repeated reviews, the standard was successfully approved. The formulation and release of this standard will provide guidance for the preparation technology of spherical particulate reference samples in the field of powder materials engineering, laying a foundation for promoting the engineering application of spherical powder materials technology. The achievement is expected to play a significant role in expanding the influence of Huzhou University within the new materials industry, carrying substantial social and economic benefits.
