Recently, Stanford University in the United States and the Elsevier database released together the seventh edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024 List. which includes two lists: the Lifetime Scientific Impact Ranking (1960 - 2023) and the Annual Scientific Impact Ranking. A total of 21 scholars from Huzhou University were selected, with 6 included in the Lifetime Scientific Impact Ranking and 15 in the Annual Scientific Impact Ranking..

　　The World’s Top 2% Scientists List is curated by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis’ team at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier’s Mendeley Data. Based on six comprehensive indicators such as the number of citations, H-index, and HM-index, the top 2% scientists in the world are selected according to their Lifetime Scientific Impact Ranking and Annual Scientific Impact Ranking respectively. The former one measures the comprehensive influence of scientists throughout their careers, the latter reflects the academic influence of scientists in the previous year. It covers 22 fields and 174 sub-fields in the global scientific community, providing a measurement index for the long-term scientific research performance of scientists and reflecting the influence of scientists more objectively and truly.

　　The selected Huzhou University scholars represent diverse subfields such as theoretical physics, mathematics, polymer materials, analytical chemistry, condensed matter physics, applied economics, applied mathematics, computer science and technology, artificial intelligence and image processing, pharmacy, environmental science, materials chemistry, chemical engineering and technology, biotechnology, medicine, and biochemistry. The disciplinary directions cover physics, mathematics, materials science, chemistry, computer science, economics, biology and biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, etc., which means the scientific researchers of Huzhou university have made outstanding contributions to the development of these fields and have a high global influence. At the same time, it demonstrates the continuously improving scientific research strength and international influence of this university.
