Former Belgian Ambassador Patrick Nijs and Delegation Visit Huzhou University

Li Qingfeng, Vice President of Huzhou university, attended the reception. Zhang Guoying, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Huzhou Municipal People’s Government, along with heads of the university’s International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Social Cooperation Office, and the Institute of Sustainable Development, attended the exchange meeting.

On behalf of the university, Vice President Li Qingfeng warmly welcomed Mr. Nijs and his delegation. He provided an overview of the university, highlighting its development, unique academic features and approaches to talent cultivation. The International Exchange and Cooperation Office shared the university’s key achievements in education internationalization.
During the discussion, Vice President Li noted that Mr. Nijs, as an experienced diplomat with a long tenure in China, has cultivated a profound connection and friendship with the country. He emphasized Nijs’s continued interest in advancing education in Zhejiang and his dedication to fostering educational collaboration between China and Belgium. Li expressed hope that this visit would serve as a catalyst for deepening educational exchanges and cooperation with Belgium
Mr. Nijs expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the university’s warm reception. He praised Huzhou University for its strong ties to the birthplace of the “Two Mountains” concept and its distinctive approach to education tailored to local contexts. Also, he commended the university’s rich achievements in international education and expressed optimism about exploring new models of collaboration in areas such as ecological agriculture and ecological community development. Such efforts, he suggested, could pave the way for mutual growth and win-win cooperation.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the “Two Mountains” Concept Exhibition Hall.
