This workshop was co-organized by the Institute of Theoretical Physics/Key Laboratory of Theoretical Physics Frontier of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (KLTP/CAS) and the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (BLTP/JINR) in Dubna, Russia. Sponsored by the Huzhou Association for Science and Technology and the Huzhou Physical Society, the event was hosted by the School of Science at Huzhou University. More than 30 international experts and over 70 representatives from 25 universities and research institutions across China participated in the workshop.

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including, including Dmitry Kazakov, Director of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia, Su Gang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cao Juexin, Business Supervisor of the Europe Division of the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xu Huixia, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huzhou University, and Li Qingfeng, Vice President of Huzhou University. Vice President Li Qingfeng presided over the ceremony.

Xu Huixia delivered the opening speech, in which Xu extended heartfelt gratitude to the attending experts and scholars for their support of this international workshop. She provided an overview of Huzhou University’s academic achievements and the recent development of its physics discipline. Xu highlighted the university's participation in the NICA project, which was highly praised by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the closing ceremony of the China-Russia Year of Scientific and Technological Innovation in 2021. This milestone underscores the university’s role in advancing Sino-Russian scientific collaboration. The convening of this workshop has further promoted Our university’s scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation with Russia. She hoped that relying on the overseas Confucius Institutes and the Cross-Cultural Research Center established by our university, which focus on the Russian-speaking regions, the education and cultural exchanges between China and Russia could be continuously promoted.

Su Gang, on behalf of the Chinese sponsoring units, extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of this workshop. He detailed the event's historical significance and the Institute of Theoretical Physics' contributions to international academic collaboration. He emphasized the workshop series' pivotal role in strengthening Sino-Russian academic ties, advancing research in strong interaction systems, and cultivating young talent. Su expressed confidence that this workshop would build new partnerships and provide valuable platforms for academic exchange among emerging researchers.

Dmitry Kazakov, on behalf of the Russian organizers, expressed his sincere appreciation for the meticulous planning and organization by Huzhou University. He introduced the basic situation of the Bogoliubov Laboratory and the research progress made in the physics of strong interacting systems. He hoped that the participating experts and scholars could conduct extensive academic exchanges, spark new ideas, inspire new insights, and contribute more new and edgy theoretical and technological achievements.

In her speech, Cao Juexin introduced the basic situation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the international cooperation between various institutes and Russia, and the funding situation of relevant international cooperation projects. She hoped that all participants would take this workshop as an opportunity to actively apply for the international joint projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation, and help to produce more high-level research results.
The five-day workshop featured over 60 presentations covering cutting-edge topics. The themes of academic exchanges included relevant frontier research fields such as the synthesis of superheavy nuclei based on complete fusion reactions, quasifission and transfer reactions, the cluster method for nuclear fission, the study of nuclear structure using the latest microscopic methods, the equation of state of isospin asymmetric nuclear matter, and the decay of exotic nuclei.

The collaboration between the Institute of Theoretical Physics and relevant domestic universities and research institutes has had a history of cooperation with BLTP/JINR in the field of theoretical physics research for more than 20 years. In 2010, China and Russia jointly initiated and held the first KLTP/CAS-BLTP/JINR Joint Workshop on Physics of Strong Interacting Systems. Since then, it has been held alternately in China and Russia once a year. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Hosting this prestigious workshop in Huzhou not only enhances the university’s engagement in international collaborations but also strengthens the bonds of friendship between the two nations.
