On the afternoon of May 29, the Master lecture “Cross-Strait ‘Qin’ Connection” sponsored by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office of our University and co-organized by Music School was successfully held in Concert Hall. The invited guests of the lecture were Wang Yichao, director of the Music Department and conductor of the String Orchestra of Fu Jen Catholic University, Jiang Baorong, director of the Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office. Relevant persons in charge of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of our University, staff of Deqing Taiwan Affairs Office, representatives of teachers and students from Furen University, representatives of teachers and students from Music School, and music lovers from other schools of this university attended the lecture.

The lecture was divided into the first half and the second half. The first half was performed by students of Music School. Director Wang Yichao gave comments and guidance on the scene. Director Wang’s meticulous guidance and vivid explanation greatly enhanced the students’ cognition and understanding of violin skills and made the students feel benefited a lot. In the second half, the students from Fu Jen Catholic University played Beethoven’s string quartet. Deng Ken, a violin teacher from our Music School, praised the students of Fu Jen for their performance, and patiently explained and demonstrated one of the tunes, which was unanimously applauded by the students.
